New Age Music

PostHeaderIcon New Age Music in Bloom

The webpage Know your mobile has reviewed the iTunes application Bloom – which is a software synth for your iPhone.

What kind of music can you make with it you might ask. Well:

The simple interface, part developed by Brian Eno, is a blank screen on which you create bubbles by tapping the display. As you tap, a note rings out, and fades as the bubble expands and becomes transparent. These taps build up, repeat and mutate to give you a bizarre, new-age music, of sorts.

For all your artists out there – now you can create music when you are out and about. We here at .nu promise that we will not label your music as bizarre :)

A look in the Archive
  • New Age Choir

Often times when describing a choir or large group of individuals singing in unison, one thinks of members dressed in robes singing before a congregation in a house of worship, being universal in most religious faiths and denominations. The 25 to 30 all male young performers who make up the [...]

  • Tubular Bells for Two

We recently told you about the band Fadalack , who did their version of Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells. About his first encounter with new age music he says: I listened to a certain amount of new age music which often resembled the instrumental passages in progressive-rock. The first new age music [...]

  • Album Review: Kevin Wood: Kindred

Both in art and in media there is a steady focus on social and cultural differences. It is for some reason more important to describe what makes us different from each other than what makes us similar. The album Kindred by Kevin Wood is a reaction to this. Wood’s message [...]
