Tangerine Dream’s second release this year is a live recording of The London Eye Concert from London-Kentishtown on 1st November 2008.

Here is the presentation from the band’s homepage:

London’s and TD’s soundscapes are so unique like a score to a movie. The British influence in TD’s music within their 40 years’ development most people may have recognized. For those who couldn’t join the concert or like to relive it again: Here’s the full cut of their beat show at the Forum in Kentishtown (including a nice booklet). A kaleidoscope beginning with the new title Trauma (Autumn In Hiroshima) and ending with the breathtaking live interpretation of the TD classic Cloudburst Flight.

The album contains nearly 3 hours of music! TD’s already impressive live discography is getting better and better. Check out the track listing here.

  • Best of album from Torben Thoger

One of the finest new artists in our genre is without a doubt Torben Thoger. But new is perhaps not the right word; so far he has released three albums. And now he presents a compilation of his best songs, which also includes three tracks from his forthcoming album, Luz (which [...]

  • Major releases in November

Just in time for Christmas shopping, world’s most prominent new age artists release their “best of” albums. Enigma is first out. On 20th of November Virgin/EMI Music releases the three disc collection entitled The Greatest Hits. One disc is for the hits, one is filled with remixes and one is [...]

  • Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn pre-orders

I’m not going to say anything negative about “yet another” Mike Oldfield classics re-release – only note that this time around it is NOT another Tubular Bells version… This year it is all about two just as interesting releases, Hergest Ridge (1974) and Ommadawn (1975). Amazon.co.uk has now begun taking pre-orders [...]

  • Tangerine Dream’s mini European tour 2010

Isn’t it fun that the first and most influential band in our genre still is the most active too? 2009 was a very good year indeed for Tangerine Dream fans; we saw the release of the four albums Springtime and Summer in Nagasaki, Autumn and Winter in Hiroshima, the awesome Views [...]

  • Interview with Mike Oldfield

Mike Oldfield was recently interviewed on Johnnie Walker’s hits from the 70s show on BBC. Mike Oldfield joined the show via telephone from Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he was staying while having his sailing yacht repaired. He talks with Walker about the recording of Tubular Bells. The occasion for the [...]
